Landry Scott Ritter

Singer/Songwriter, Landry Scott Ritter, cut his teeth where South Texas and The Texas Hill Country meet… HWY 90. His early life began in Uvalde, Tx where his family still resides. He later moved down the highway to Hondo, Tx, while spending summers and weekends in Fredericksburg, Tx working for his Grandfather. As a Former Student of Texas A&M University, he holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Performance Studies.  

His music career began at the ripe age of 12 when he played his first live show for a Friday Fish Fry! Landry’s step-father and member of the house band at the “Purple Sage Dancehall,” Les Johnston, put a guitar in his hand and gave him the nickname “Sponge” shortly before that debut performance.

Landry has played bars/dancehalls/parties/fundraisers and more all over the great state of Texas. Headlining venues like “Twin Sisters Dancehall” and “The Tap” and opening up for country music legends like Moe Bandy and the late Johnny Rodriguez. He has even been able to showcase his original music at the famous “Bluebird Cafe” in Nashville, Tn. 

Now calling The Texas Hill Country home, Landry’s sound is a collection of the experiences and influences he has picked up throughout his 15 year career. With Country, Rock, Blues, Soul, Gospel, the right amount of Pop and a dash of Funk, he has molded a unique sound that defies the constraints of any one genre! 

When asked about his sound, Landry responded, “My sound is that I have no one sound. I write what I listen to, whatever that may be and however that may come out. I try not to put myself in a box. I let the people come up with their own interpretations. The good Lord sends me my music, I’m just the medium.”
